 "Don Quixote"

 

Music – L. Minkus   Choreography - V.Sarkisov

  This funny and simple-play performance on the music of Ludwig Minkus, so little like Cervantes' novel - one of the oldest classical ballet, born at the Bolshoy Theatre. At December 14, 1869, he was first staged by Marius Petipa. Glitter and charm of this ballet magically attracted new generations of dancers, choreographers and audiences. In this ballet came together all colours of Spain and classical ballet.
While Don Quixote is absorbed in reading the novel, his love arrow Cupid strikes. Impassioned he went to search his love.

In the midst of the festivities in Townships merry crowd of citizens, appeared Don Quixote. Having met Kitri he sees her as his mistress, but she was already engaged to Basil. Cupid appears, he brings Don Quixote in a fabulous dream where he saw Meredes - she fascinates him with her dance. And it's real love!
Final - wedding of Kitri and Basilio, Don Quixote and Mercedes surrounded by toreadors wellcomes the happiness happy newlyweds.
This Ballet is presented in a new choreographic version - Vyacheslav Sarkisov.


   "Flower Festival"

Music – E. Helsted   Choreography - V.Sarkisov

August Bournonville - well known Danish ballet master teacher of the 19th century. Most prominent representative of the romantic school of dance. His most famous ballets are - "La Sylphide" H. Levenskola, "Naples" N.Gade, "Fair in Bruges" S. Paulli. Ballet "Flower Festival in Dzhintsano" on a music by Ebbe Helsted was staged in the 1858.  Grand Pas from this ballet is pearl of the world classical choreography.  Best dancers of the world perform it in all international competitions and concerts.


"Romeo and Juliette in Jerusalem" (2 acts)

Music – S.Prokofiev   Choreography - V.Panov

To the basis of the ballet was placed not only a tragic story of love, but the old-age Arab-Israeli conflict. The events unfolding in the East Jerusalem. Romeo - the young man, the student,  from the good Jewish family. Juliet – young Arab woman from a noble Muslim family. Ironically, they met at the University, and fell in love. The tragedy starts when Romeo and his friend Mercutio came to the Eastern (Arabic) part of Jerusalem to look the feast, where should be Juliet. Tybalt, Juliet’s brother, saw Romeo's there and the fight erupted. Romeo tried to stop it with the piece, but Tybalt couldn’t be reconciled, he killed Mercutio, Juliet rushed to protect Romeo and also was killed by the hands of her brother. She is dying slowly in the Romeo’s hands. 

In the ballet reveals two story lines - first, is the infinite power of love. Romeo and Juliet, once again proving that love connects people regardless of age, color of the skin and nationality. Second line - is the situation in Jerusalem today. Very clearly shows the relationship between the two nations,  living side by side in one country, but so different. Also shows the sense of Muslim religion where sister could be killed by her brother, just because she fell in love with Jew. 

During the performance sounds melody of  the symbolic song "It must be another way ..." as a leitmotif  showing the main idea of this ballet.  And in the final part we could hear this Song - Hope, that one day it would be peace and friendship between Arabs and Jews.

 


 «Carmen»

Music - Bizet - Saltykov-Shchedrin    Choreography - V.Panov

The original choreography by V.Panov, which combines classical ballet and fiery Spanish flamenco. This is a play of nowadays. The party on the Ibiza island, where young people have fun. The most ringleader of these companies - beautiful CarmenOne of the young prosperous policeman Jose met Carmen. She fascinates him, and among them erupted the love affair.

Night celebrations are accompanied with the festive young people who ran through the streets, as they ran to the bullfight and the persecuted with animals. Young people – looking for the freedom and flirting with destiny.

From the beginning The Mother-Spain in the form of Flamenco dancer (real image of Spain) look for all this intrigues. Love of Jose and Carmen overshadowed – with the mad passion of Carmen to the handsome man - matador. So we find ourselves in the Spanish love triangle. The Mother-Spain wants to stop the impending bloody tragedy. But Carmen wants to be free in her feelings, as well as many beautiful women of today.

José and the Toreador tried to fight for their love. Carmen was killed by the hands of Jose, but they continued  to share her even after her death. She's dead, but – she is Free.

Epilogue - the underworld – Mother-Spain, which unfortunately couldn’t do northing, with the Spanish boiling blood. Around her, in the white dress like an angel flies happy Carmen with red rose in her teeth. She still gained her freedom.

Very beautiful, bright, energetic performance - a combination of celebration and drama, love and death, passion and freedom.

 


   «Adios - Tango» 

Music – Piazzolla   Choreographer - V.Panov

The main story line of this ballet based on the real events connected with the personal tragedy of the Panov’s  life, parting with his ex-wife Galina Panova - Ragozina. After 31 years of marriage and work, having conquered the world, Galina decided to disperse and go to her partner in tango. Valery Panov named Galina care tragedy of his life. In Valery’s  eyes flashed all his life with Galina, and so was born the ballet "Adios - Tango." The famous dancer and choreographer, reflects on the suffering and separation, he review his life and spotlights on the stage once again begin to light up, get up and again began his theater, but this time alone, and after the word "Googbye".

 

   «Les Selphides» 

Music – Chopin    Choreographer – M. Fokine

The traditional classic white ballet by M. Fokine, of the early 20th century. One duet, several soloists and cardeballet. The ballet "Les Sylphides", staged on a wonderful, easy-for-the perception music of Chopin, and  full of romantic visions. Exciting waltzes, mazurkas, easy flirt of ballet dancers excites the imagination. The ballet "Les Sylphides" - embodied fantasy of beauty, harmony and happiness.
