This funny and simple-play performance on the music of Ludwig Minkus, so little like Cervantes' novel - one of the oldest classical ballet, born at the Bolshoy Theatre. At December 14, 1869, he was first staged by Marius Petipa. Glitter and charm of this ballet magically attracted new generations of dancers, choreographers and audiences. In this ballet came together all colours of Spain and classical ballet.While Don Quixote is absorbed in reading the novel, his love arrow Cupid strikes. Impassioned he went to search his love.In the midst of the festivities in Townships merry crowd of citizens, appeared Don Quixote. Having met Kitri he sees her as his mistress, but she was already engaged to Basil. Cupid appears, he brings Don Quixote in a fabulous dream where he saw Meredes - she fascinates him with her dance. And it's real love! Final - wedding of Kitri and Basilio, Don Quixote and Mercedes surrounded by toreadors wellcomes the happiness happy newlyweds. This Ballet is presented in a new choreographic version - Vyacheslav Sarkisov.
